Specifications

quSENSE TWEETER
· Complete own development and design of components
· Assembled at quadral in Hanover
· 100 % control ensures high production quality
(Extremely slight deviation from the reference)
· Genuine aluminium ribbon, 1.5 cm wide and relatively
short. This results in a better dispersion in the vertical
since MT and HT lie closer together. Convenient location
of the acoustic center
· Scaled to different sizes, to be combinable in different
models (home theater aspect)
· Very good frequency response, linearity, high load
capacity, extremely low distortion
· Application of a sound gaze and the width of the strip
assure better stability.
· quadral quSENSE is our trademark for AURUM tweeter
PRESSURE CHAMBER
· On both sides of the cone membrane acts the same air
pressure, which guarantees a very uniform movement
of the membrane
· The bass reflex port has been moved forward, which
allows an installation close to walls
· In the two top models TITAN and VULKAN we work
with complex channels, that optimize the air flow. The
overall result is an improvement in the dynamics.
· The bass pressure is amplified by up to 3dB, thus less
energy is required to achieve the same bass pressure.
· The thermal effect is reduced accordingly
· Unique use in HiFi field, the pressure chamber principle
is usually used in PA systems
quadral ALTIMA
®
-CHASSIS
· quadral ALTIMA
®
: Very strong and lightweight
membrane
· New baskets made of sturdy die-cast aluminum
· Ultramodern basket design for minimal flow losses
· Generously ventilated spider for free air circulation.
Thereby low mechanical losses
· New magnetic field geometry and extremely powerful
drives for more dynamics, detail and control
· Continuous membrane (bowl shape) without dust
protection
· Advantage: better frequency response linearity, fine
dynamics and wider dispersion
· Much larger voice coil (e.g. TITAN 65 instead of
50 mm) allows a significantly higher capacity. Lower
heat generation and no acoustical change (thermal
compression). Supported by larger ventilation hole in
the magnet for voice coil
· Copper cups over the pole core to reduce harmonic
distortions (THD)
· Very low self-resonance
· Resonances occur only at high frequencies, which can
be filtered easily
· Extremely constant manufacturing quality, which
ensures consistent high acoustic quality
HOUSING
· Solid MDF wood. Baffle in TITAN and VULKAN e.g.
28mm thick, thus little disturbing resonances
· Elaborated internal bracing and damping of the hous-
ing walls for transient response and uncolored sound
· Midrange chamber in wedge shape and with fewer
damping material, thus drastic reduction of „standing
waves“ and open, dynamic sound.
· Beveled edges for improved housing omni directional
(particularly large models)
· Sturdy metal front panels do not resonate unfavora-
bly and affect the frequency response much less than
wood or plastic frames.
· Fine materials, multilayer coatings in high-gloss and
piano finish, oiled wood and polished chrome parts
ensure a luxurious yet subtle overall impression.
TERMINAL
· High-quality bi-wiring terminals in aluminum with
„real“ cable bridges for optimal signal flow
· Tweeter level switch at each AURUM 9 model with 3
positions: neutral, + 2dB, -2dB
· TITAN, VULKAN and TITAN BASE additionally feature
level switch for midrange and bass, whereat the bass
can be operated either neutral or + 3dB.
· The respective circuit does not affect the signal flow
directly, since it is connected in parallel.
AURUM 9
D‘APPOLITO
· The D’appolito arrangement in TITAN and VULKAN
brings acoustic benefits
· Improved vertical dispersion
· More convenient spatial frequency, ground reflections
less destructive
· Higher capacity
· Lower separating frequency to the woofers possible
