E. Finishing Material
It is important that the nishing material is determined before
the appliance is secured to the oor. Depending on the n-
ishing material and installation method, the appliance may
need to be positioned further in or out of the wall.
There are three ways nishing material can be applied:.
1. Behind the mounting frame
. Flush with the mounting frame
. Proud of the mounting frame
1. Behind the Mounting Frame
The mounting frame is designed to have a 1/ inch (1mm)
overlap on the sides and the top of the framing opening.
Figure 28.1.
NOTICE: Non-combustible material is not needed to nish
this appliance.
Positioning the nailing anges:
• Slide the nailing anges all the way to the front and this
will set the appliance for 1/ inch (1mm) sheet rock.
• If tile, marble or other at surface nish material is desi-
ered and you want the mounting frame to cover the cut
edge, set the nailing anges at a dimension of the sheet
rock thickness plus the nishing material thickness.
Figure 28.2.
Example: Sheetrock = 1/2 inch (13mm)
Finish Material = 3/8 inch (9.5mm)
Move ange: 7/8 inch (22mm)
2. Flush with the Mounting Frame
The nish material can not be thicker than 1-1/ inches
(8mm) to use this method. Figure 28.3.
• Set the nailing anges for sheet rock thickness and
install the appliance.
• Install the mounting frame.
• Install the nishing material to edge of the mounting
frame.
3. Proud of the Mounting Frame
This method is mainly used for a brick or stone installation.
When nishing material is proud of the mounting frame
and front, there must be a 1-1/4 inch (mm) airow clear-
ance in front of the mounting frame. Figure 28.4.
Use the masonry spacer supplied with the Front to position
the nishing material at the proper dimension. Remember
to keep the Front opening clearances in mind when nishing
material is proud of the Front. (See pages 29-30) .
•
Set the nailing anges for sheet rock thickness and
install the appliance.
• Install the mounting frame.
• Install the nishing material to edge of the mounting
frame.
• Complete the installation following all specied clear-
ances to combustibles.
