A. Commissioning
Oncetherehasbeeninstalleditwillneedtobetested
andcommissionedforcorrectrunningandtocomplywith
theNZcleanairregulations.Todothisyoumayneedto
altertherotaryselectorswitchonthetopofthecontrolbox
toachievethecorrectMagnahelicreading,withtheunit
runningonhigh(0.11inchesWC).
ToadjusttheMagnahelicofthereyouneedtoadjustthe
rotaryswitchsettingonthecontrolbox.
Dothispriortostartingthere
• Unplug/depowertheappliance.
• Using7/16”or11mmwrenchorsocket,loosenthe
threenutsthatholdtherightsidepanelinplace.You
donotneedtoremovethenuts.Removesidepanel
byliftingupandout.
• Removethecontrolboxretainerbracket.
Startthereonhigh(see“StartingYourFirstFire”onpage
9)andletitrunforatleast15minutes
• Unplug/depowertheappliance(thiscanbedone
evenwhenthereishotforashortperiod).
• Liftcontrolboxoutofthejunctionbox
• Usingasmallatheadscrewdriverturntherotary
switchuntilthedesirednumberisshowingonthe
dial,(defaultpositionis2).Thisaltersthecombustion
fanspeedandhencetheMagnahelicreading.This
shouldincreasereadingsfromposition1(lowest)to
position7(highest).Position0innotused.
• Reinstallcontrolboxandplugtheappliancebackin.
Oncethepowerisreappliedtherewillgobackthrough
itsstart-upprocess.Youwillneedtowaitatleast10
minutestocheckiftheMagnahelicisnowcorrect.Ifnot
repeattheprocess.Experiencewillhelpjudgethecorrect
settingfortheinstallation.

When describing the location
of a component, it is always AS
YOU FACE THE FRONT OF THE
APPLIANCE.
1. Control Box
a.Thecontrolboxislocatedontheupperrightsideof
theappliance,behindtherightsidepanelandabove
thejunctionbox.
b.Thereisalightlocatedinsideofthecontrolbox.The
internallightwillturngreenwhentheappliancehas
reachedatemperatureof200°F(93°C)intherepot
andwillturnredwhenitreaches600°F(315°C).
c.Thereisalsoaninternalbluelightlocatedinthecontrol
box.Whenyouplugintheappliancethebluelightwill
automaticallystartblinking.FormodelSANTAFEthe
bluelightshouldash6timesevery10secondsfor
therst60secondsafterpowerup.
2. Convection Blower
Theconvectionblowerismountedatthebottomrearofthe
appliance.Thereare2impellers,oneoneachsideofthe
motor.Theconvectionblowerpushesheatedairthrough
theheatexchangesystemintotheroom.
3. Exhaust Blower
Theexhaustblowerismountedontherightsideofthe
appliance.Theexhaustblowerisdesignedtopullthe
exhaustfromtheapplianceandpushitoutthroughtheue
system.
4. Feed System
Thefeedsystemislocatedontherightsideofthe
applianceandcanberemovedasanentireassembly.
Theassemblyincludesthefeedmotor,mountingbracket,
bearingandfeedspring(auger).Thehollowfeedspring
(auger)pullspelletsupthefeedtubefromthehopperarea
anddropsthemdownthefeedchuteintotherepot.
5. Firepot
Therepotismadeofhighqualityductileironandhas
acleaningpull-outrod.Theooroftherepotopensfor
cleaningwhenyoupullouttherod.Besurethattheoor
returnstoacompletelyclosedpositionoryourappliance
willnotoperateproperly.
