B. After the Appliance is Lit
Initial Break-in Procedure
When you light the appliance, you may notice that it pro-
ducesheatwhichmayhaveanodororsmell.Ifyoufeelthis
odorisexcessiveitmayrequiretheinitialthreetofourhour
continuous burn on high followed by a second burn up to
3hourstofullydriveoffanyodorfrompaintandlubricants
usedinthemanufacturingprocess.
C. Inspection Before Each Use
Beforeeachuseoftheappliance,checktobesurethatthe
logs are in proper locations and that the burner is not ob-
structedwithanyforeignorcombustiblematerials.Check
thattheburnerandallairpassagewaysarekeptclean.
Ifanypartoftheburnerisnotignitingproperly,turnoffthe
appliance.Letitcool,andcheckforanyobstructions.
