4. Cleaning Plated Surfaces

Cleanallthengerprintsandoilsfromplatedsurfaces
BEFORE ring the appliance for the rst time. If not
cleaned properly before lighting your rst re, the oils
cancausepermanentmarkingsontheplating.
After the plating is cured, the oils will not affect the
nishandlittlemaintenanceisrequired.Wipecleanas
needed.
Handleglassassemblywithcare.
When cleaning glass:
• Avoidstriking,scratchingor
slammingglass.
• DoNOTcleanglasswhenhot.
CAUTION
• DoNOTuseabrasivecleaners.
• Useahardwaterdepositglasscleaneronwhitelm.
• Usecommericalovencleaneronheavierdeposits.
• Removeallresidueofovencleanerorwillpermanently
stainglassonnextring.

5. Glass Cleaning

Cleanglasswithanon-abrasiveglasscleaner.Abrasive
cleanersmayscratchandcauseglasstocrack.Ifthe
depositsontheglassarenotveryheavy,normalglass
cleanersworkwell.Heavierdepositsmayberemoved
byusingadampclothdippedinwoodashesorbyusing
acommerciallyavailableovencleaner.
Afterusinganovencleaner,itisadvisabletoremoveany
residuewithaglasscleanerorsoapandwater.Oven
cleaner left on during the next ring can permanently
staintheglass and damagethe nish onplatedmetal
surfaces.
Aportionofthecombustionairenteringthereboxisdeected
downovertheinsideofthedoorglass.Thisairow“washes”
theglass,helpingtokeepsmokefromadheringtoitssur-
face.
Whenoperatedatalowburnrate,lessairwillbeowingover
theglassandthesmokey,relativelycoolconditionofalow
rewillcausetheglasstobecomecoated.
OperatingtheappliancewiththeBurnRateAirControland
Start-UpAirControlallthewayopenfor15-20minutesshould
removethebuiltupcoating.
3. Disposal of Ashes

Ashes should be placed in a metal container with a
tight tting lid. The closed container of ashes should
beplacedonanon-combustibleoororontheground,
wellawayfromallcombustiblematerials,pendingnal
disposal.
Iftheashesaredisposedofbyburialinsoilorotherwise
locallydispersed,theyshouldberetainedintheclosed
containeruntilallcindershavethoroughlycooled.
