WP2P – Repeater Module - Quick Start Guide – v1.2 – June 2013 2 WP2P Repeater Module To increase the range and indeed provide an increased coverage an optional Repeater Module is available for the WP2P systems. The Repeater module can be specified for use with any WP2P Digital system or WP2P Analogue & Digital I/O system. There is configuration that needs to be performed by QTech to securely address the modules together; therefore adding a Repeater to existing modules is not possible.
WP2P – Repeater Module - Quick Start Guide – v1.2 – June 2013 3 Aerial Selection Notes The aerial selected for the Repeater will most likely be an “omni directional” whip type aerial. We recommend part number PD9218 as a suitable aerial for the repeater. This is an external mounting, professional grade aerial with 5m of coax and a stainless mounting bracket. Each Repeater module is supplied with the standard stub aerial which is perfect for system testing and short range applications.
WP2P – Repeater Module - Quick Start Guide – v1.2 – June 2013 4 Installation and Operation Notes Aerials The WP2P modules are low power devices designed specifically for operation in New Zealand and Australia. Each WP2P module is supplied with a stub aerial that will provide an operating range of 50 to 350 meters, dependent upon terrain and obstacles such as trees and buildings. All radio systems work most reliably when the path between the radios is clear “line of sight”.
