Installing and Removing the Rack Rails
Rack rails are provided to allow for easy access to the top cover and internal components when the system is
mounted on a rack.
Warning It is the responsibility of the installer to ensure compliance with all applicable standards. Quanta
assumes no responsibility for damage or injury due to improperly installed equipment.
Warning The rail racks are designed to carry only the weight of the server system. Do not use rail-
mounted equipment as a workspace. Do not place additional load onto any rail-mounted
equipment.
Warning This server requires two (2) people to physically handle the system.
Installing the Rack Rail
When the server is to be installed into a rack, it is necessary to install two rack mount rails onto the server
chassis prior to installing the server into the rack. Follow the procedures below to install your rack mount rails
onto your server. Before you proceed, check the parts list for all parts.
1. Remove the inner rail from the slide rail by pressing on the latch on the inner rail and sliding the inner rail
out.

2. Locate and position the inner rail on the system chassis, sliding the inner rail into place.
