Dx - Indicates DIMM on the memory risers.
Sx - Indicates that the CPU socket is populated. S0 is CPU socket 1,S1 is CPU socket 2, S2 is CPU socket 3, and
S3 is CPU socket 4. A Y indicates the CPU socket is populated. Blank indicates the CPU socket is empty.
S – Indicates whether the configuration supports the Spare mode of operation. Y indicates a Yes, N indicates a
No.
Intra M – Indicates whether the configuration supports the Intra Mirroring mode of operation. Y indicates a Yes, N
indicates a No.
Inter M – Indicates whether the configuration supports the Inter Mirroring mode of operation. Y indicates a Yes, N
indicates a No.
H - Indicates whether the configuration supports the Hemisphere mode of operation. Y indicates a Yes, N
indicates a No.
N - Identifies the total number of DIMMs that constitute the given configuration.
X – Indicates that the DIMM is populated.

Installing DIMMs
Caution
Use extreme care when installing a DIMM. Applying too much pressure can damage the
connector. DIMMs are keyed and can be inserted in only one way.
Hold DIMMs only by the edges. Do not touch the components or gold edge connectors.
Install DIMMs with gold-plated edge connectors only.
The maximum allowable DIMM height is 3 cm; do not install DIMMs that exceed this height.
