Chapter 4: Serviceable Components QSSC-S4R Server System Product Guide

For proper airflow each fan zone must have one of three configurations:

1. Two memory risers

2. One memory riser and one memory air baffle

3. Two air baffles

Installing a Memory Air Baffle

Install a memory air baffle when a fan zone has one memory riser (only).

1. Remove the top cover. For instructions, see “Removing the Top Cover” on page 51.

2. Place the bottom of the memory air baffle into the slot.

3. Push the top of the air baffle into the slot till it latches in place. See the following figure.

4. Install the top cover. For instructions, see “Installing the Top Cover” on page 52.

Removing a Memory Air Baffle

Remove a memory air baffle when a fan zone has two memory risers installed.

1. Remove the top cover. For instructions, see “Removing the Top Cover” on page 51.

2. Press down on the tab at the top of the memory air baffle to release it, see “1” in the following figure.

3. Lift the memory air baffle out of the system, see “2” in the following figure.
