Installing and Removing a 5 ¼-inch Peripheral Device
The server system accommodates one 5 ¼-inch peripheral device. To install or remove this device, the system
must be powered down and the power cords removed.
Note: Value SKU systems use the 6 Mainboard SATA connectors for the HSBP. You will need to
disconnect a SATA cable from a hard drive bay on the HSBP and connect it to the peripheral to be
able to use it. The hard drive bay corresponding to the removed SATA cable will no longer be
available.
Installing a 5 ¼-inch Peripheral Device
1. Push the tabs at each side of the peripheral device. See letter “A” in the following figure.
2. Hold the tabs in while pulling the peripheral device from the bay. See letter “B” in the figure.
