7. Remove the DVD_RW from the carrier. Store the drive in an antistatic protective wrapper or in its original

packaging.

8. Install a new DVD-RW drive into the carrier or install the ½” SATA DVD Blank (Value SKU only) and slide

the empty carrier into the server. See “Installing an Optical Disk Drive” below.

Installing an Optical Disk Drive

1. Remove the optical disk drive or ½” SATA DVD Blank (Value SKU Only). For instructions, see “Removing an

Optical Disk Drive” on page 96.

2. Remove the new drive from its protective wrapper, and place it component-side down on a clean ESD-

protected work surface.

3. Attach the securing bracket to the DVD-RW drive.

4. Place the left side of the drive into the drive carrier.

5. Press the DVD-RW drive into the carrier until it is firmly secured.

6. Insert the DVD-RW drive carrier assembly into the front opening in the chassis until flush with the faceplate.
