The handset header contains the date and time, but this time from the
handset’s clock, followed by the Phone’s MAC (Media Access
Control) address, the phone’s IP address in parentheses, and a
message number in brackets.
If the handset is not configured to use the SNTP (Simple Network
Time Protocol) to determine the correct date and time, it will set its
clock to midnight, January 1, 2001 on power up.
The message number starts at 0 on power up, and increments for
every Syslog message sent. Note that the message number is in
hexadecimal.
The remainder of the Syslog message is the message itself, and can be
any text, and often includes data as well as the text.
