Terminal Characteristics
The software installation assigns the following terminal characteristics
to the printer port:

No Modem No Local_echo No Autobaud Hangup

Installing the DECnet Host
Software
Use the following procedure to install the serial/parallel host software:
1 After mounting the host software media on the input device
and logging in under the system account, begin the installa-
tion program by typing
$ @SYS$UPDATE:VMSINSTAL↵
2 After the installation program banner, the following prompt
displays:
* Are you satisfied with the backup of your
system disk?
n If you’re satisfied with your back-up copy of the system disk,
type Y or press Enter.
The system notifies you that it is moving the release notes to
the system help directory.
n If you don’t made a back-up copy, type N to exit from the pro-
gram.
