Removal and Replacement Procedures
RRP 9.6 Left Cover Interlock Switch Assembly (PL11.2)
Removal
1. Remove the Rear Cover Assembl
y

2. Disconnect F5230 and F5231 from the Interlock Switch.
3. Remove the screw that secures the Interlock Switch Bracket to the printer frame, and pull the Assem-
bl
y
out of the printer.
4. Rotate the Switch Lever so it is strai
g
ht up, and slide it off of the Bracket.
5. Press the two clips securin
g
the Switch to the Bracket and push the Switch out of the Bracket.
Replacement
1. Position the Switch a
g
ainst the openin
g
in the Bracket so the two wire terminals are on the outside of
the Bracket, awa
y
from the screw hole.
2. Press the Switch into the Bracket.
It snaps into place.
3. Position the Switch Lever a
g
ainst the Switch, with the foot of the Lever facin
g
out.
4. Rotate the Switch Lever so it is strai
g
ht up, and slide it onto the Bracket.
Press and release the Lever to make sure it is functionin
g
correctl
y
.
5. Open the Duplex Unit and the Left Upper Cover.
6. Position the Switch Bracket a
g
ainst the printer frame, sli
g
htl
y
down from the screw hole in the printer
frame.
7. Raise the Bracket so the ali
g
nin
g
ke
y
at the bottom of the Switch meshes with the slot in the printer
frame.
The ke

and slot keep the Bracket from movin
g
durin
g
operation.
8. Ali
g
n the screw hole in the Bracket with the screw hole in the Frame.
9. Use one screw to secure the Interlock Switch Assembl
y
to the printer frame.
10. Open and close the Left Upper Cover to make sure the Switch functions correctl
y
.
11. Reconnect F5230 and F5231 to the Interlock Switch.
12. Reinstall the Rear Cover Assembl
