Removal and Replacement Procedures
RRP 3.4 MSI Size Sensor Assembly (PL4.4)
Removal
1. Remove the MSI Feeder Assembl
y

2. Place the MSI Feeder upside down, with the Tra
y
facin
g
y
ou.
3. Remove the two screws securin
g
the Lower Cover to the Upper Cover.
4. Locate the three latches on the ri
g
ht side of the Tra
y
.
5. Press the first latch while
y
ou pr
y
the ed
g
e of the Lower Cover out of the Upper Cover.
6. Repeat step 4 for the remainin
g
two latches located on the ri
g
ht side of the Tra
y
.
7. Repeat step 4 for the two latches that are located on the left side of the Tra
y
, and remove the Lower
Cover from the Upper Cover.
8. Remove the MSI Tra
y
.
9. S

g
the MSI Size Sensor to the MSI Side Guide, and pr
y
the Sensor
off awa
y
from the Upper Cover.
10. Disconnect J107 and remove the Sensor Assembl
y
.
Replacement
1. Reinstall the MSI Side Guide, makin
g
sure the two latch tabs at the bottom of the Guide fit throu
g
h the
cutout in the Upper Cover.
2. Slide the Side Guide all the wa
y
to the ri
g
ht
(
toward the MSI Tra
y
Sprin
g)
.
3. Hold the Side Guide in place while
y
ou press the two holes in the Size Sensor onto the two latch tabs
Press hard enou
g
h so the Size Sensor locks into place.
4. Make sure the sprin
g
-loaded arm of the Sensor is under the molded track.
5. Slide the Sensor Assembl
y
to the left to make sure it moves smoothl
y
and the sprin
g
-loaded arm low-
ers as
y
ou move the Sensor to the left, and raises when
y
ou move the Sensor to the ri
g
ht.
6. Route the Sensor wire harness alon
g
the molded channel and throu
g
h the cutout on the ri
g
ht side of
the Upper Cover.
7. Reconnect J107.
8. Reinstall the MSI Tra
y
, with the arrow side facin
g
down.
9. Slide the three tabs on the upper ed
g
e of the Lower Cover into the three cutouts in Upper Cover, and
press the Lower Cover onto the Upper Cover.
10. Press at the five latch locations to make sure the latches have locked the Lower Cover in place.
11. Use two screws to secure the Lower Cover to the Upper Cover.
12. Reinstall the MSI Feeder Assembl
