d Fasten the clips.
2 Turn on both the printer and the PC.
A start-up page should print. If it doesn’t, see the “Printer Problem
Checklist” in chapter 6, “Troubleshooting,” of the
Operation
guide.
3 Test communication between the printer and the PC.
You can do this by sending a file from one of your applications, or
you can see “Testing Communication” in chapter 6, “Trouble-
shooting,” of the
Operation
guide.

If you're replacing a PostScript printer, you can probably start printing
now with the printing software already in place. Refer to your application
documentation for instructions on sending documents to the printer.
However, if you want to be able to use all your printer’s special fea-
tures (like collation, 600x600 dpi and 1200x1200 dpi printing), or if
you’ve never printed to a PostScript printer before, we recommend
you take a few minutes to make sure you have the following printing
software installed:
A PostScript or PCL printer driver
Printer description files (if you use QuarkXPress 3.3, PageMaker,
or Photoshop)
