The Stackler is now ready for use. We hope you enjoy the Stackler
with its giant output capacity, and exciting document finishing fea-
tures—including stacking, job offset, and stapling. See appendix B,
Technical Specifications,” in the
Reference
manual, for stack capac-
ity information.
For optimum Stackler use, remember don’t
Rest objects on top of the Stackler trays.
Touch the Stackler trays during operation.
Put your hand all the way into the stapler compartment unless
instructed to do so.
After installing the Stackler, you should print a test staple page to
ensure that the staple cartridge is adequately advanced. To print a
test staple page, select one of the Stackler output bins as the default
output bin (Operator Control/Outputbin menu), and then print a status
page by pressing the Status Page key on the printer control panel.
If the staples do require advancing, you will see a series of up to 12
staples placed along the side of the sheet. If the staples were
advanced correctly, no staples will be placed on the sheet. If the sta-
ples were not advanced correctly, refer to the “Replacing the Staple
Cartridge” section of this addendum.
