With the optional envelope feeder, you can print up to 100 business or
personal-size envelopes at a time. A stack height of about 100 enve-
lopes would be 2.875" (73mm). The envelope feeder supports the fol-
lowing sizes: Envelope (9.76'' x 6.93'') 248 mm x 176 mm, COM 10
(9.5'' x 4.125”) 241 mm x 105 mm, Monarch (7.5” x 3.875”) 191 mm x
98 mm, DL size (8.66'' x 4.33'') 229 mm x 162 mm, and C5 size (9.02''
x 6.38'') 229 mm x 162 mm. This tray lets you print mailing addresses
on envelopes pre-printed with logos or return addresses. It even
allows you to print your own logo and return address, along with the
mailing addresses.

Envelopes must meet the specifications listed above, in chapter 2,
Print Media” of the
Reference
guide, and in appendix B, “Technical
Specifications” of the
Reference
manual. They should be the top flap
type with pre-folded sealing flaps. The leading edge (the edge that
feeds into the printer) must be thin and well creased. End flap enve-
lopes, envelopes with transparent windows, and envelopes with three
or more layers on the left and right edges are not recommended. Note
the following conditions when selecting envelopes:
They do not contain fasteners, clasps, windows.
They do not have peel-off strips for sealing.
They do not contain materials that melt, vaporize, offset, discolor
or emit dangerous fumes at high temperatures (190
°
C/374
°
F).
They are not wrinkled, torn, or curled, and edges are square and
crisply folded.

Follow these steps when installing the optional envelope feeder on
the printer:
1 Remove the envelope feeder from its box, and remove all the
packing materials.
