10 Once passwords are activated, press the Menu key to exit
the menu. The following message is displayed
SAVE CHANGES?
*NO
11 Press the Next key until YES is displayed on the bottom line
of the display window.
12 Press Select and remove the security key from the port.
Once a menu is password protected, you cannot enter the menus
or make changes in it until you enter a valid password. You’ll know
whether or not the menu is password protected when you press
the Select key when trying to enter the menu structure. If the
menu is password protected, ENTER PASSWORD appears on the
message window. Passwords are entered as alphanumeric val-
ues. If you enter an invalid password, the message window
flashes INVALID PASSWORD for three seconds, and then returns
to the parent menu. If you forget the password, your system
administrator can easily recover it by following the installation pro-
cedure again. When the correct password is entered, the sub-
menu displays. The password for these two menus may be the
same or different. See “Installation Menu” in chapter 4, “Printer

for more information.
