When the lamp burns out, or when it gets too dark from age, use the
following instructions to replace it.

1 If necessary, turn off the scanner.
2 Raise the document cover.
3 Turn on the scanner.
4 Watch the lamp. When it is positioned at the dot between the
“1” and the “2,” turn off the scanner again. This should take
about 15 seconds for the lamp to move to this position.
