▲ Caution:
If you plan to collate, duplex, and/or staple while scanning
multiple sheets from the ADF, refer to “Memory Configuration” on
page 5-26.
1 If necessary, turn on the scanner and then the printer.
The power switch is located on the right side of the image scanner.
2 Make sure that the scanner’s Power and Ready LEDs are
lighted and that no documents are on the scanner glass.
3 Raise the unattached end of the input paper chute to about 45°.
4 Pull the metal bracket down from the under side of the paper
chute.
5 Slide the metal bracket into the grips on the document cover.
6 Pull up the input paper chute extension.
7 Angle the sheets of the document to be copied.
This helps guard against paper feed errors.
a Place the document face down.
b Lift approximately 0.25"/4 mm or less of the sheets with both
hands.
c Hold the sheets tightly with your left hand, and bend them as
illustrated.
d Grip the sheets tightly with your right hand, loosen the grip of
your left hand, and then straighten the sheets as illustrated.
e Repeat steps b-d for the entire document.
