4 Unfold the scanner-tray extension and slide the
scanner-tray flaps (under the tray) together.
5 Install the output tray: set the two tabs on the bottom
of the tray into their slots as shown below.

This procedure requires you to install a circuit board in your com-
puter and possibly to change some computer settings, so you’ll
need to refer to your computer’s documentation for some informa-
tion. If you feel uncomfortable about performing these procedures,
you might want to get an experienced person to help you.
1 Use Microsoft Diagnostics (MSD) to find out which
COM settings are in use on your computer: Exit Win-
dows (if necessary) and at the DOS C:\ prompt, type
msd, press Enter, and then choose the COM Ports but-
ton in the screen that appears.
