Performing Diagnostics

To perform diagnostics, follow these steps on both SANblade Control VIX
Applications:
1. Select an HBA in the HBA tree.
2. Click the Diagnostics tab. The Diagnostics tabbed page displays (see
figure 19-22).

3. In the Remote System box, type the name of the system port whose connection
you want to test. To find the name, see the VI host file (see section 19.6).
4. In the Iterations box, select the number of times to run the test. Valid values
are in the range 1 to 10000. The default value is 1000. This value must be the
same on both SANblade Control VIX Applications.
5. In the Data Size box, select the amount of data (in bytes) to be passed in each
iteration of the test. Valid values are in the range 8–65536. The default is 8.
This value must be the same on both SANblade Control VIX Applications.
6. Determine which port is the client and which is the server. (It doesn’t matter
which system you choose as the client or server. However, the diagnostics will
not work if you have two servers or two clients.) On the client port, click the
Client radio button. On the server port, click the Server radio button.
7. From the server port, click Start.
NOTE: You cannot start the diagnostics from the client port.
