SANblade Control FX Application for Windows NT/
Windows 2000

Introduction
NOTE: If you have installed a QLA2350/2352 HBA and want to run VI, use the
SANblade Control VIX Application for Windows 2000 (see section 19).
The SANblade Control FX (Application and Wizard) GUI for
Windows NT/Windows 2000 allows you to configure HBAs and the target devices
attached to them. The SANblade Control FX GUI works only on the local machine;
it cannot configure HBAs and target devices on remote machines.
SANblade Control FX for Windows NT/Windows 2000 has the following features:
n HBA parameters configuration
n Target persistent binding
n Diagnostics (loopback and read/write buffer tests)
n Utilities for updating the NVRAM and BIOS
n Configuration wizard (see section 18)
n Reporting basic information about the local host, HBAs, target devices, and
logical unit numbers (LUNs)
Throughout this section, HBA and adapter are used interchangeably. Some screens
in the GUI use HBA, some use adapter.
17.2
Installing SANblade Control FX
The following requirements must be met before you install the SANblade Control
FX GUI:
n The HBAs must be installed.
n The HBA drivers must be installed.
n Note that the SANblade Control FX GUI configures HBAs on the local machine;
it cannot configure HBAs on remote machines.
n You need 30 MB on the local machine to install the SANblade Control FX GUI.
