Channel Device menu. The selected device displays in the Selectable Boot
menu list.
Repeat steps 35 for each of the other locations in the Selectable Boot menu where
you want to add bootable devices.
NOTE: QLogic recommends that when the HBA BIOS is enabled and the
Selectable Boot option is enabled, you always select a device and put
it in the Primary boot device location of the Selectable Boot menu list.
Many new system BIOS’ support selectable boot. The system BIOS selectable boot
supersedes the Fast!UTIL Selectable Boot option setting. To boot from a Fibre
Channel hard disk attached to the QLA23xx HBA, select the QLA23xx HBA Fibre
Channel hard disk in the system BIOS.
NOTE: This option applies only to hard disks; it does not apply to tape drives and
other nondisk devices.
14.2.3
Restore Default Settings
The Restore Defaults option from the Configuration Settings menu restores the
QLA23xx HBA default settings.
14.2.4
Raw NVRAM Data
This option displays the adapter’s NVRAM contents in hexadecimal format. This is
a QLogic troubleshooting tool; you cannot modify the data.

Advanced Adapter Settings
From the Configuration Settings menu in Fast!UTIL, select Advanced Adapter
Settings. The default settings for the QLA23xx HBA are listed in table 14-3 and
described in the following paragraphs.
NOTE: Some older versions of Fast!UTIL may display additional settings that are
no longer required.
