9 – Windows 2000 Driver Installation

Channel Adapter message displays. Perform the following steps to complete the
driver installation:
1. When the Digital Signature Not Found dialog box displays, select Yes.
2. When the Insert Disk message displays, insert the driver disk created in
section 9.2. Click OK.
3. Click Finish on the Found New Hardware Wizard/Completing the Found
New Hardware Wizard screen.
4. The following message displays:
Your hardware settings have changed. You must restart your
computer for these changes to take effect. Do you want to
restart your computer now?
Click Yes.
QLogic is in the processing of obtaining a Digital Signature for the driver through
the official WHQL process from Microsoft. Once a valid Digital Signature has been
obtained and put in the CAT file, the Digital Signature Not found dialog box will
not appear.

Updating the Windows 2000 Driver
Perform the following steps if a Windows 2000 driver is already installed and you
want to install an updated version of the driver.

1. Click the Start button, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, point
to Computer Management, and then click Device Manager.
2. Use the scroll bar to scroll down the list of hardware types. Double-click SCSI
and RAID controllers.
3. Select QLogic QLA2300 PCI Fibre Channel Adapter from the devices list.
Click Properties.
4. Click the Driver tab, then click Update Driver to start the Upgrade Device
Driver Wizard. Click Next.
5. Select Display a list of the known device drivers for this device so that I
can choose a specific driver. Click Next.
6. Insert the driver disk created in section 9.2. Click Have Disk.
7. In the Copy manufacturer’s files from dialog box, type the following:
A:\
Click OK.
