Windows 2000 Driver Installation
(QL2300.SYS)
9.1
Introduction
This section provides instructions for installing the Windows 2000 driver under the
following operating system conditions:
n Initial installation of the Windows 2000 operating system and the Windows 2000
driver (QLA23xx HBA connects to the boot device)
n Installation of the Windows 2000 driver in an already installed Windows 2000
operating system (QLA23xx HBA connects to an add-on device)
n Installing an updated Windows 2000 driver in an already installed Windows 2000
operating system that has an older version of the driver
If you have a QLA2350/2352 HBA and want to enable virtual interface (VI) support,
install the driver according to the procedures in this section, then follow the
instructions in section 19.2 to install the SANblade Control VIX application.
SANblade Control VIX allows you to enable VI.
9.2
Creating the Driver Disk
Follow these steps to create driver disk containing the files needed to install the
Windows 2000 driver:
1. Locate the driver you want on the QLogic web site (www.qlogic.com
) and click
Link to driver.
2. If prompted What would you like to do with this file?, choose Save this
program to disk. Specify a temporary location on the hard drive and download
the driver.
3. Insert a blank disk in drive A.
4. Run the self-extracting file you just downloaded, specifying A:\ for Unzip To
Folder.
