Windows NT Driver Installation
(QL2300.SYS)
7.1
Introduction
This section provides instructions for installing the Windows NT driver under the
following operating system conditions:
■
Initial installation of the Windows NT 4.0 operating system and the Windows NT
driver (QLA23xx is connected to the boot device)
■
Installation of the Windows NT driver in an already installed Windows NT 4.0
operating system
■
Installing an updated Windows NT driver in an already installed Windows NT 4.0
operating system that has an older version of the driver
7.2
Creating the Driver Disk
Follow these steps to create driver disk containing the files needed to install the
Windows NT driver:
1. Locate the driver you want on the QLogic web site (www.qlogic.com
) and click
Download.
2. If prompted Would you like to open the file or save it to your computer?,
click the Save button. Specify a temporary location on the hard drive and
download the driver.
3. Insert a blank disk in drive A.
4. Run the self-extracting file you just downloaded, specifying A:\ for Unzip To
Folder.

Windows NT Driver Installation
To install Windows NT 4.0 on a Fibre Channel hard disk attached to a QLA23xx
HBA, perform the installation procedures in section 7.3.1. If Windows NT 4.0 is
already loaded on your system, perform the installation procedures in section 7.3.2.
If Windows NT 4.0 and an older Windows NT driver are already installed on your
system, perform the update procedures in section 7.3.3.
