Windows 2000 Installation
Perform the installation instructions that correspond to your system:
■
To install Windows 2000 and the Windows 2000 driver with the QLA23xx HBA
connected to the boot device, perform the installation procedures in
section 8.3.1.
■
To install Windows 2000 and the Windows 2000 driver with the QLA23xx HBA
connected to an add-on device, perform the installation procedures in
section 8.3.2.
■
To install the Windows 2000 driver when Windows 2000 is already loaded on
your system, perform the installation procedures in section 8.3.3.
■
To update the existing Windows 2000 driver, perform the installation procedures
in section 8.3.4.
8.3.1
Initial Installation of Windows 2000 and the Windows 2000 Driver
(QLA23xx HBA Connects to the Boot Device)
Perform the following steps to install Windows 2000 with the QLA23xx HBA
connected to the boot device:
1. Insert the Windows 2000 setup disk or CD-ROM (if booting from a bootable
CD-ROM drive) in an appropriate drive.
2. If you are booting from the CD, press F6 if you see the message Press F6 if
you want to install a third party SCSI or RAID Driver...
After all the standard devices have been loaded, press S to Specify Additional
Device. Go to step 5.
3. If you are booting from the Setup disks, after the standard devices have been
detected and configured, press S to Specify Additional Device.
4. Select Other and press ENTER.
5. Insert the QLogic driver disk created in section 8.2 and press ENTER.
6. Select the QLogic QLA23xx PCI Fibre Channel Adapter and press ENTER.
7. Continue with the standard installation procedure.
