b. To download the driver from the QLogic web site, follow these steps:

Locate the driver you want on the QLogic web site (www.qlogic.com) and
click Download.

When prompted Would you like to open the file or save it to your
computer?, click the Save button. Specify a temporary location on the
hard drive and download the driver.
2. Insert a blank disk in drive A.
3. Run the self-extracting file you just downloaded, specifying A:\ for Unzip To
Folder. Make sure the files listed in section 4.2 are on the disk.

Installing the Driver
This section is divided into the following three sections:
■
Initial OS Installation with the QLA4010/4010C HBA as an Add-on Device
■
Adding the QLA4010/4010C HBA to the Existing OS
■
Updating the Existing Driver
NOTE:
■
The system cannot boot from the device attached to the QLA4010/4010C
HBA.; consequently, the operating system (OS) cannot be installed on the
device attached to the QLA4010/4010C HBA.
■
The QLA4010 is a multifunction PCI device. Function 1 refers to the
QLogic iSCSI initiator device.
4.4.1
Initial OS Installation with the QLA4010/4010C HBA as an Add-On Device
NOTE:
■
The system cannot boot from a device attached to the QLA4010/4010C
HBA; consequently, the operating system (OS) cannot be installed on the
device attached to the QLA4010/4010C HBA.
■
You must create a driver disk (see section 4.3) when installing the OS and
the QL4010.SYS driver. You cannot install the QL4010.SYS driver directly.
Perform the following steps to install Windows Sever 2003 and the QL4010.SYS
driver when the QLA4010/4010C HBA is attached to a nonbootable device:
1. Start the Windows Sever 2003 installation procedure using the Setup disks or
CD.
2. If you are booting from the CD and the following message displays, press F6:
