Main Window 4 – QLconfig Windows

You activate functions and operations from the main window with menu options,
menus, and buttons.
The QLconfig main window consists of three sections:
❑ The main menu options on the top part of the window
❑ A map of all connected machines and their QLA2xxx adapters, target
devices, and Logical Unit Numbers (LUN) on the left side of the window
❑ A graphic with the QLogic logo, the name of the currently selected machine,
the Connect to New Machine button, and the Machine Configuration
button on the right side of the window
4.2.1
Machine Mapping Tree
The machine mapping tree displays each machine connected to QLconfig. The
hierarchical order of each machine consists of the following four layers:
❑ Machine name (Windows or NetWare Server)
❑ QLA2xxx adapter number and name
❑ Target device name
❑ LUN
The + icon next to the machine tells you that there are components connected to
this machine. You can click on the + icon to view these components (see figure 4-1).
To select a QLA2xxx adapter on a machine, expand the machine’s QLA2xxx
adapter list by double-clicking on the machine name or single-clicking on the
+ icon next to the machine name. To expand or collapse any portion of the tree,
click anywhere on the appropriate icon.
Right-click on the icons to display their menus. From these menus, you can select
the component’s operation options. After you select a machine or adapter, the name
of the machine displays in the section below the QLogic logo on the right side of
the window.
