Specifying the Polling Interval
The polling interval is the length of time that lapses between polling connected
machines for alarms and indications. Once a QLA2xxx adapters system is
connected, QLview for Fibre starts polling this system for alarms and indications.
When selecting polling intervals, consider the following factors:
The polling interval always applies to the machine you have currently
selected in the QLview for Fibre main window.
The default polling rate is 30 seconds, but you can change it using this
feature.
The polling interval must be in the range of 1 second to 3600 seconds
(1 hour).
Invalid entries are rejected and the polling interval remains unchanged.
The faster the polling rate, the more quickly QLview for Fibre receives
indications from the connected system. However, faster polling rates
consume more of your systems CPU resources and slow the system.
