Even a small one-host, one-adapter, one-disk system can benefit from the system
monitoring and diagnostic features of QLview. With a SAN, QLview for Fibre
becomes a vital administrative tool.
QLview for Fibre consists of the following components:
❑ QLview for Fibre Application. This is the GUI application that runs on
any Windows NT system connected to the servers (Windows NT,
Windows 2000, and NetWare) and manages the QLA2xxx adapters on those
servers.
❑ QLview for Fibre NT Agent. This software is required on the Windows
NT systems where the QLA2xxx adapters reside.
❑ QLview for Fibre NetWare Agent. This software is required on Novell
NetWare systems where the QLA2xxx adapters reside. This software is
installed from an NT client system connected to the Novell system.
❑ Intel DMI Service Provider. This software is required on Windows NT
and Windows 2000 systems where the QLA2xxx adapters reside. This
software is installed automatically if it is not present.

Features
The QLview for Fibre utility has the following features.
❑ Asset Management. QLview for Fibre automatically detects the QLA2xxx
adapters installed in the system and provides the following details about
each one:
❑ Model and type
❑ WorldWide Name (WWN)
❑ Loop ID
❑ Serial number
❑ BIOS version
❑ Firmware version
❑ Driver version
❑ Configuration Management. QLview for Fibre provides the following
configuration information:
❑ A list of devices attached to each QLA2xxx adapter
❑ The physical address map of the arbitrated loop (AL_PA map)
❑ The QLA2xxx adapter NonVolatile RAM (NVRAM) settings
❑ A mechanism to modify and update the NVRAM
