5. Type mount to mount the ESS volume groups to the applicable host systems
that are connected to the ESS. Perform the steps one system at a time.
6. If you want to create new volume groups, go to step 16 on page 65 in
“Attachment procedures” on page 65.
Configuring for the HACMP/6000 host system
This section provides guidelines for planning and installing the software for the
HACMP/6000 host system.
The HACMP provides an availability solution for the commercial UNIX environment.
The HACMP/6000 software supports shared external disk configurations, such as
the ESS.
You can use the ESS in nonconcurrent access clusters and also in concurrent
clusters if the clusters are not mirrored.
For information about the latest releases of HACMP/6000 that are available to
attach the ESS to the RS/6000 and pSeries host systems or the RS/6000 and
pSeries SP server host systems with SCSI adapters or fibre-channel adapters, see
the following Web site:
www.storage.ibm.com/hardsoft/products/ess/supserver.htm
Use the HACMP/6000 documentation for your software version to plan and set up a
cluster. Because the ESS appears to the host as a pure SCSI device, you do not
need specific device-type considerations.
HACMP for AIX Version 4 Release 3 Modification level 1 now supports the following
hardware for the IBM SAN Data Gateway 2108 Model G07:
v Feature code 2214
v Feature code 2213
v Feature code 2319
Note: When you use two fibre-channel adapters to a single SAN Data Gateway in
an HACMP environment, the SAN Data Gateway must be run in split mode.
Each fibre-channel adapter must be connected to a separate port on the
SAN Data Gateway and two separate ports on the SAN Data Gateway must
be used to attach to two separate SCSI ports on the ESS.
The feature codes add support for fibre-channel with four initiators. Support includes
a matrix for HACMP and Models E10 and E20. Models F10 and F20 are not
supported by HACMP.
For additional information about supported host systems, operating systems, and
adapters, see the following Web site:
www.storage.ibm.com/hardsoft/products/ess/supserver.htm
The IBM Subsystem Device Driver is only supported in concurrent mode available
in the CRM and ESCRM features of HACMP. For ESS installations, use IBM
Subsystem Device Driver Version 1 Release 1 Modification 4. Prior versions do not
support the SAN Data Gateway. See Table 16 on page 68 for information about
hardware and software levels supported for HACMP Version 4 Release 2
Modification 2 and HACMP Version 4 Release 3 Modification 1.
