You have the option to save the driver file to a floppy diskette or a directory on
your hard drive.
8. Click Save.
A window that shows the progress of the download is displayed.
9. When the download completes, click Close.
10. Go to the file directory where you stored the file.
11. Unzip the file by double clicking the icon.
When you double click the icon, a window opens.
12. Click Unzip.
When the unzip process completes, you should see a message that says, x
files unzipped successfully, where x equals the number of files you
unzipped. Click OK.
13. Click Close to close the window for unzipping the file.
Installing the QLogic adapter drivers
Perform the following steps to install the fibre-channel adapter drivers.
Note: If you are installing the fibre-channel adapter for the first time, you must
specify the correct topology. You must also select the appropriate device
mapping driver.
1. From your Windows 2000 desktop, double click the icon for My Computer.
2. Double click the icon for Control Panel.
3. Double click the icon for SCSI Adapters.
4. In the SCSI Adapters window, click Drivers.
5. Click Add.
6. In the Install Drivers window, click Have Disk.
7. In the Install from Disk window, ensure that the drive letter in the Copy
Manufacturer’s Files From field is the drive letter you specified to save the
2xxxxxxx.exe file in step 7 on page 145 in “Downloading the QLogic adapter
driver” on page 145.
8. Type the name of the current driver file after the drive letter prompt in the
Copy Manufacturer’s Files From field.
9. Click OK.
10. Click OK to exit.
11. Restart your host system.
Configuring the ESS with the QLogic QLA2100F or QLA2200F adapter
card
To configure the host adapter card, use the ESS Specialist.
Installing the Emulex LP8000 adapter card
This section tells you how to attach an ESS to a Windows 2000 host system with
the Emulex LP8000 adapter card. Single- and dual-port fibre-channel interfaces with
the Emulex LP8000 adapter card support the following public and private loop
modes:

v Public initiator
v Private initiator
