Configuring the ESS with the Emulex LP8000 host adapter card
To configure the Emulex LP8000 host adapter card, use the ESS Specialist.
Configuring for availability and recoverability
This section describes how to ensure optimum availability and recoverability when
you attach an ESS to a Windows NT host system. You must set the timeout value
associated with the supported host bus adapters to 240 seconds. The setting is
consistent with the configuration for IBM SSA adapters and disk subsystems when
attached to Windows NT host system.
The host bus adapter uses the timeout parameter to bound its recovery actions and
responses to the disk subsystem. The value exists in different places in the system
