When the unzip process completes, you should see a message that says, x
files unzipped successfully, where x equals the number of files you
unzipped. Click OK.
13. Click Close to close the window for unzipping the file.
Installing the QLogic adapter drivers
Perform the following steps to install the fibre-channel adapter drivers.
Note: If you are installing the fibre-channel adapter for the first time, you must
specify the correct topology. You must also select the appropriate device
mapping driver.
1. From your Windows NT desktop, double click the icon for My Computer.
2. Double click the icon for Control Panel.
3. Double click the icon for SCSI Adapters.
4. In the SCSI Adapters window, click the Drivers tab.
5. Click Add.
6. In the Install Drivers window, click Have Disk.
7. In the Install from Disk window, ensure the drive letter in the Copy
Manufacturer’s Files From field is the drive letter you specified to save the
2xxxxxxx.exe file in step 7 on page 129 in “Downloading the QLogic adapter
driver” on page 129.
8. Type the name of the current driver file after the drive letter prompt in the
Copy Manufacturer’s Files From field.
9. Click OK.
10. Click Cancel to exit.
11. Restart your host system.
Configuring the QLogic host adapter cards
To configure the QLogic QLA2100F or QLA2200F adapter card, use the ESS
StorWatch Specialist.
Installing the Emulex LP8000 adapter card
This section tells you how to attach an ESS to a Windows NT host system with the
Emulex LP8000 adapter card.
Note: If you use the Emulex LP8000 adapter with the McData ED-5000,
non-switched configurations are not supported. For fibre-channel connection
through the SAN Data Gateway, the ED-5000 is only supported on the
Emulex adapter.
Perform the following steps to install the Emulex LP8000 adapter card.
1. Turn off and unplug the computer.
2. Remove the computer case.
3. Remove the blank menu from an empty PCI bus slot.
4. Insert the host adapter board into the empty PCI bus slot. Press firmly until
seated.
5. Secure the mounting bracket for the adapter to the case with the panel screw.
6. Replace the computer case by tightening the screws on the case or use the
clamp to secure the cover.
