8. Save the changes and select SCSISelect again to verify that you saved the
changes.
9. Restart the server.
10. Load the Adaptec drive, and restart the system if instructed to do so.
Installing and configuring the Symbios 8751D adapter card
Perform the following steps to install and configure the Symbios 8751D adapter
card.
Note: The parameter settings shown are an example. The settings for your
environment might be different.
1. Install the Symbios 8751D in the server.
2. Connect the cable to the ESS port.
3. Start the server.
4. Press Ctrl+C to get to the Symbios Configuration Utility menu.
5. From the Symbios Configuration Utility menu, select LSI Logic Host Bus
Adapters.
6. Set the parameters on the LSI Logic Host Bus Adapters panel as follows:
a. Press F2 at the first panel.
b. Select the Boot Adapter list option to display the boot adapter list. See
Figure 60 for an example of the boot adapter list.
Note: The boot adapter list shows only user-definable parameters.
c. Perform the following steps to change the BIOS settings:
1) Highlight Next Boot and then click On to change the setting.
2) Restart the host.
3) Select Symbios Configuration Utility again, and make the changes.
4) After you make the changes, highlight and then click Off to change the
setting.
5) Restart the host.
d. Set the parameters on the Global Properties panel as follows:
v Pause When Boot Alert Displayed: [No]
v Boot Information Display Mode: [Verbose]
v Negotiate With Devices: [Supported]
v Video Mode: [Color]
v Restore Defaults (restores defaults)
e. Set the parameters on the Adapters Properties panel as follows:
v SCSI Parity: [Yes]
v Host SCSI ID: [7]
v SCSI Bus Scan Order: [Low to High (0..Max)]
Boot Order [0]
Next Boot [Off]
