a. Set the parameters on the Advanced Configuration Options panel as
follows:
v Host Adapter SCSI ID: 7
v SCSI Parity Checking: Enabled
v Host Adapter SCSI Termination: Automatic
v Sync Transfer Rate (megabytes per second): 40.0
v Initiate Wide Negotiation: Yes
v Enable Disconnection: Yes
v Send Start Unit Command: No
v Enable Write Back Cache: No
v BIOS Multiple LUN Support: Yes
v Include in BIOS Scan: Yes
b. Set the parameters on the SCSI Device Configuration panel as follows:
v Reset SCSI BIOS at IC Int: Enabled
v Display Ctrl+A Message During BIOS: Enabled
v Extend BIOS translation for DOS drives>1GB:Disabled
Note: Set this parameter to Disabled if you do not put DOS partitions
on the ESS or use remote boot for ESS hosted volumes.
v Verbose or Silent Mode: Verbose
v Host Adapter BIOS: Disabled:scan bus
v Support Removable Disks under BIOS as fixed disks: Disabled
v BIOS support for bootable CD-ROM: Disabled
v BIOS support for INT 13 extensions: Enabled
c. Save the changes and select SCSISelect again to verify that you saved
the changes.
5. Restart the server.
6. With NetWare 5, use the nwconfig command; with NetWare 4.2, use the load
install command. Type the command on the command line.
7. Load the AHA2940.ham file (version 7.0) by using the disk driver option.
8. Edit the startup.ncf file and make sure that the load statement looks like the
following example:
LOAD AHA2940.ham SLOT=x lun_enable=ff
where x is the slot number of the adapter.
9. Save the startup.ncf file.
10. Edit the startup.ncf file and add the following text to the end of the file:
Scan all LUNs
Note: This enables the server to scan all the attached storage before
mounting the volumes.
11. Save the file.
12. Restart the server.
13. At the system console, type the following commands:
Scan for new devices
List devices
A list of devices is displayed.
