In the Alerts view, the alert text changes from bold to plain text and the

administrator’s ID appears in the Acknowledged By column.

Diagnosing the alert

To diagnose the switch problem, the administrator uses several views:

◆ Topology — To identify the other components to which the switch physically

connects

◆ Path Details — To identify the paths that exist (mapping, I/O path) between the

host device and the array logical volume across the SAN

◆ Properties — To find out more information about the host to which the switch

connects

◆ Tree panel — To discover which business groups are affected by the issue

To use the Topology view, the administrator:

1. Clicks the horizontal split-screen icon in the Alerts view.
