Getting Started
Press button to confirm that you
have a dial tone. If you do not get a dial
tone, review step 3 through 11. If you still
do not have a dial tone, refer to the Problem
solving section in the manual.
With the back of the HANDSET facing up,
insert one side of the BELT CLIP HOOK into
the matching slot at the top side of the
HANDSET. Press down on the opposite
side of the BELT CLIP until the other HOOK
locks into the slot on the side of the
HANDSET.

You are now ready to use you new
BellSouth Cordless Telephone
IMPORTANT
In order to utilize the Caller ID feature, you must
subscribe to Caller ID service from your local
telephone company.
Choosing A Location
Do the following:
x Choose the best location
x Connect the base phone
x Choose the dialing mode
Where you place the base phone affects the reception quality of the handset. If you have multiple
handsets system, please keep all handsets approx same distance from the base. In order to
ensure all handsets perform uniformly.
x Away from another cordless telephone.
x Do not put more than 1 handset in the 1 meter proximity area to avoid unexpected interferes.
x Place the base near an AC electrical outlet and near telephone line jacks.
x Place the base away from metal walls and metal file cabinets.
CAUTION: The cordless telephone operates at a frequency that may cause interference to nearby
TVs and VCRs or PC, the base phone should not be placed near, or on top of a TV or VCR or PC.
If interference is experienced, moving the cordless telephone farther away from the TV or VCR or PC
will often reduce or eliminate the interference.
