Chapter 5 Client Management
IfyouinstallViewClientfromtheexecutable,VirtualPrintingandUSBsupportare
offeredwithintheapplication,andStartMenuentriesarecreated.
To install View Client
1RuntheViewClientexecutableonthesystemthatwillhosttheclient,wherexxx
isthebuildnumberofthefile:
VMware-viewclient-xxx.exe
2WhentheVMwareInstallationwizardappears,clickNext.
3AccepttheVMwarelicensetermsandclickNext.
4 Chooseyourcustomsetupoptions:
IfyoudonotwantuserstoaccesslocallyconnectedUSBdevicesthroughtheir
desktops,deselecttheUSBRedirectioncomponent.
Ifyouwanttorequirealluserstoprovideidentityandcredentialinformation
tologintoaViewConnectionServerandagaintoaccessaViewdesktop,
deselecttheLoginascurrentusercomponent.
5IfyouselectedtheLoginascurrentusercomponent,youcanfurtherconfigurethe
defaultbehaviorwhenusersloginusingViewClient:
SelectShowinconnectiondialogtodisplaytheLoginascurrentusercheck
boxintheViewClientconnectiondialogbox.
Whenthischeckboxisselected,theidentityandcredentialinformationthat
theuserprovidedwhenloggingintotheclientsystemispassedtotheView
ConnectionServer
instanceandultimatelytotheViewdesktop.
SelectSetdefaultoptiontologinascurrentusertohavetheLoginascurrent
usercheckboxselectedbydefaultintheViewClientconnectiondialogbox.
ClickNext.
6AcceptthedefaultdestinationfolderorclickChangetouseadifferentdestination
folderandclickNext.
