View Connection Server Instances
ViewConnectionServerisinstalledonaMicrosoftWindowsServersystemthatis
locatedoneitheraphysicalorvirtualserverdedicatedtobrokeringViewManager
connections.ThehostsystemmustbejoinedtoanActiveDirectorydomain—butmust
notbeadomaincontroller.YoumustuseastaticIPaddress
forthehostsystem.
ThedomainuseraccountusedtoinstallViewConnectionServermusthave
administratorprivilegesonthatserver.TheViewConnectionServeradministrator
mustalsopossessadministrativecredentialsforvCenterServer.
Theservercanbeinstalledasaeitherastandard,replica,orsecurityserver—the
instancetypeis
selectedduringtheinstallationprocess.

CAUTIONDonotinstallViewConnectionServeronaplatformthatperformsanyother
functionsorroles—forexample,donotusethesamesystemtohostvCenterServer.
NOTEInordertoaddusersinanActiveDirectorydomainotherthantheoneinwhich
youhaveinstalledastandardorreplicaViewConnectionServer,youmustestablisha
two‐waytrustrelationshipbetweentheirdomainandtheoneinwhichtheView
ConnectionServerislocated.
