Transceivers
Active transmitter/receiver
sets provide means of sending
unbalanced and balanced
audio, at great distances over conventional
Cat 5 cable. Unlike conventional passive
baluns, these powered transceivers are
able to send the signal literally thousands of feet. Because
each signal path is actively converted to a balanced signal,
total noise isolation is achieved and ground loop issues are
eliminated. Using conventional Cat 5 cable, these units use
one pair for power and the others for up to three audio
channels, designated as pair-A, pair-B and pair-C.
Depending upon the model, transmitters and receivers
operate on one or more pairs. Single pair models are
selectable. All units must be used as a set, which includes
a sender, receiver and a power supply. The listed power
supply may be connected to either sender or receiver at
distances of up to 400'. For greater distances, a power
source must be connected at both ends. Optional power
inserter enables power to be applied anywhere along the
Cat 5 line. System requires 24VDC, AC adapter sold
