1.3 Introduction
PLS Puck, henceforth identified with the terms “product”, “device” or “beacon”, is a portable circular
Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) beacon for proximity, identification and RTLS applications. PLS Puck uses
Quuppa™ Intelligent Locating System for accurate RTLS. PLS Puck is especially designed for automatic
identification of people and assets. It is powered by 3 non-replaceable 3V lithium battery, mod. CR2477.
Before you start using PLS Puck, verify that it is undamaged and carefully read the instructions in this user
manual, particularly the indications in the safety section.
Only qualified staff may operate the product/system outlined in this documentation and only if observing
the documentation for the relevant task, specifically the safety and warning notices included therein. Due
to their training, qualified staff are able to recognize risks when handling these products/systems and avoid
possible hazards.
1.4 Intended use of Pyramid products
Please observe the following:
Pyramid products may only be used for intended uses outlined in the associated technical documentation.
If third party products and components are used, then they have to be recommended and approved by
Pyramid.
Perfect and safe operation of the products requires professional transport, appropriate storage, set-up,
assembly, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance. The permissible ambient conditions
have to be adhered to. Please observe the information in the relevant documentations.
1.5 Exclusion of liability
We checked the content of the publication for accordance with the described hardware/software.
However, we cannot exclude deviations which means that we cannot accept liability for full compliance.
Pyramid Computer GmbH disclaims any and all liability if the devices are used in modes and environments
incompatible for keeping the product’s intact, safe and in operation.
1.6 Purpose and scope of this documentation
This compact information includes directions and information which are necessary for commissioning
and using the device. This documentation is valid for all available versions of the device and describes the
delivery condition as of July 2019.
