Chapter 7:
EXTERIOR EQUIPMENT
7.1 Deck
RAILS AND DECK HARDWARE
The rail system and hardware fittings have been selected and installed to perform specific functions. Fenders
or mooring lines should be secured to the cleats and not to rails or stanchions. Be sure a clear lead exists when
running dock lines or anchor lines. A line inadvertently run around a stanchion or over the rail could cause
damage.
The aft mooring cleats are flush mount and must be raised prior to use.
ALL FITTINGS MUST BE PERIODICALLY INSPECTED FOR LOOSE FIT OR WEAR AND
DAMAGE. ANY PROBLEMS SHOULD BE CORRECTED IMMEDIATELY.
PURSUIT BOATS ARE NOT EQUIPPED WITH HARDWARE DESIGNED FOR TOWING PUR-
POSES. THE MOORING CLEATS ARE NOT TO BE USED FOR TOWING ANOTHER VES-
SEL OR HAVING THIS BOAT TOWED.
FORWARD DECK SUNPAD (Optional)
The optional forward deck sunpad should only be used when the boat is stationary, at anchor or at dockside.
Before getting underway, ensure that the sunpad is properly secured to the deck.
ALL PASSENGERS SHOULD SEATED IN THE COCKPIT AND NOT BE ALLOWED TO OC-
CUPY THE DECK SUNPAD WHENEVER THE BOAT IS UNDERWAY.
WINDLASS
The anchoring system is made up of a below-deck windlass, thru-stem anchor chute
and Bruce-style anchor. A raw water washdown system, chain binder and remote
control for the windlass are also inside the locker. Access to the rope locker is
provided through a deck plate.
A chain binder is provided in the locker to secure the anchor. Always make sure
the anchor chain is secured by the chain binder before getting under way.
The windlass locker is equipped with a raw water washdown system to clean the
anchor and chain. The raw water system switch must be in the "ON" position for
the system to operate.
The windlass locker is drained by a thru-hull fitting. Check the drain frequently
