maintain charge on the house battery. The generator charging system does not generate enough current to keep
up with the electrical demand on the house battery.
The wires that supply DC charging current to the batteries are protected by an internal fuse in the battery
charger and three circuit breakers, one for each battery bank output wire. The external breakers protect the
DC charging circuit from the batteries to the charger. They are located on the DC distribution panel. Push
to reset the breakers. The internal fuses in the charger protect the DC charging circuit from the charger to the
batteries. The battery charger is located in the cockpit machinery space.
Air Conditioner (Optional)
Supplies electrical current to the air conditioning control panel and the air conditioner raw water pump when
this option is installed. Otherwise it is reserved for additional AC equipment. This breaker will trip if sea
water is not being supplied to the air conditioning unit. If this breaker trips, reset and check for water flow
out of the air conditioning thru-hull. Refer to the air conditioner owner’s manual for additional information.
Island and Interior Outlets
Supply electrical current to the cabin ground fault interrupter (GFI) electrical outlets. All AC electrical outlets
are provided with ground fault interrupters to protect against electric shock. These outlets should be tested
periodically to ensure proper operation by pressing the test/reset buttons in the center of face plate. GFI outlets
do not protect against short circuits and overloads. This is done by the outlet breakers on the AC panel.
GFI OUTLETS DO NOT PROVIDE 100% PROTECTION FROM ELECTRIC SHOCK. EVEN
THOUGH GROUND FAULT INTERRUPTERS PROVIDE PROTECTION BY REDUCING EX-
POSURE TIME FROM LINE TO GROUND SHOCK HAZARDS, IT IS STILL POSSIBLE TO
RECEIVE AN ELECTRIC SHOCK FROM DEFECTIVE APPLIANCES OR POWER TOOLS AND
MISUSED ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT.
4.6 Generator (Optional)
Your Pursuit may be equipped with an optional generator. An
owner operator's manual for the generator has been supplied with
this manual. Please refer to it for details on the generator
operation.
The generator compartment located in the aft cockpit machinery
space is equipped with a blower for ventilation. Please refer to
the Ventilation System chapter. The generator compartment is
equipped with an automatic fire extinguisher system and an
automatic engine shutdown system. Refer to the Safety Equip-
ment chapter.
FUEL INJECTED GENERATORS REQUIRE BLEEDING OF AIR FROM THE FUEL DELIV-
ERY SYSTEM PRIOR TO INITIAL START-UP. BLEEDING OF THE FUEL SYSTEM WILL
ALSO BE REQUIRED IF THE GENERATOR IS ALLOWED TO RUN OUT OF FUEL. CON-
TINUED ATTEMPTS TO START THE GENERATOR WITHOUT BLEEDING THE FUEL SYS-
TEM UNDER THESE CIRCUMSTANCES CAN LEAD TO ENGINE DAMAGE OR ERRATIC
OPERATION. THIS PROCEDURE MUST BE COMPLETED BY YOUR SERVICING DEALER.
