Maintenance
To keep the filter in the best working order it is recommended that you follow the
maintenance guidelines below.
• Perform a visual check of the filter housing and seals once a week. If needed, repair
or replace as necessary.
• Clean the filter once a month or as required due to pressure drop, when the
pressure drop across the filter reaches 0.6 bar (8 psi).
• Perform a deep clean at the beginning and end of the irrigation season.
To remove organic material: Soak the screen in a 0.5% hypochlorite solution
(bleach) for 30 minutes. Rinse with clean water and return to filter according to
procedures above.
To remove scale/calcium: Soak the screen in a bath of Puretec SC1000
ScaleSolve for 30 minutes. Rinse with clean water and replace back into the filter.
Cleaning Mesh Screens
1. Turn off the inlet feed water.
2. If the line is pressurised, depressurise the line by releasing a tap downstream.
3. Unscrew the filter cap, or if equipped, unfasten the clamp.
4. Remove the cap.
5. Pull out the filter element.
6. Clean the element using pressurised water (i.e.: garden hose). Use a so brush for
hard-to-remove particles.
7. Replace the element (ensure the O-rings have not been dislodged or lost).
8. Replace the filter cap, and if equipped, fasten the clamp.
9. Turn on the inlet feed water.
10. Check for leaks - tighten if necessary.
