Connecting Generator to an Electrical System
Never directly connect generator
to a household power source.
Adding Fuel
Do not smoke when adding fuel.
Turn cap counterclockwise
to remove.
UNPLUG
Do not overfill the fuel tank.
Provide space for fuel expansion.
• If connecting generator to a building electrical system for standby power, you
must use a qualified electrician to install a transfer switch. The power from the
generator must be isolated from the utility power source. The connection must
comply with all local electrical codes and applicable laws.
• Set generator outdoors in a well-ventilated area, away from structures and people.
• Slowly remove fuel cap.
• Insert a funnel into the fuel tank and carefully pour gasoline into the tank until fuel level
reaches 1 ½ inches below the top of the neck. Be careful not to overfill the tank, to
allow space for fuel expansion.
