Connecting Generator to an Electrical System
Never directly connect generator
to a household power source.
Adding Fuel
Do not smoke when adding fuel.
Turn cap counterclockwise
to remove.
UNPLUG
Do not overfill the fuel tank.
Provide space for fuel expansion.
If connecting generator to a building electrical system for standby power, you
must use a qualified electrician to install a transfer switch. The power from the
generator must be isolated from the utility power source. The connection must
comply with all local electrical codes and applicable laws.
Set generator outdoors in a well-ventilated area, away from structures and people.
Slowly remove fuel cap.
Insert a funnel into the fuel tank and carefully pour gasoline into the tank until fuel level
reaches 1 ½ inches below the top of the neck. Be careful not to overfill the tank, to
allow space for fuel expansion.
