ERIFYING SCANNER OPERATION

Prior to installation, we recommend that you connect the scanner and

power supply to AC power to ensure that the scanner is fully

functional.

1. Plug the DC power connector from the AC/DC power

supply into the scanner.

2. Connect the IEC end of the AC power cord into the

AC/DC power supply.

3. Plug the AC power cord into an AC power outlet.

The scanner should emit a tone

indicating that it has passed the Power-

Up Self-Test routine, and the green

lamp will light continuously indicating

that the scanner is ready for operation.

Since the scanner is not connected to a

host terminal, it may only read one or

two labels before it must be reset.

This is normal because some terminal

interfaces require the scanner to store

label data until the POS terminal

signals that it is ready to receive the

data.

If the scanner powers-up, but the

green lamp begins flashing and the

speaker repeats a series of tones, go to

the section titled, Problem Isolation.
